CAST MEMBERS & FANS OF “GENERAL HOSPITAL” BUILD A HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS12/12/2009 Partnership Raises Funds & Walls for New Home in Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA – December 7, 2009: Thirteen cast members of General Hospital, one of the longest running soap operas in television history, have partnered with Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity to build safe, affordable housing with families in need. On December 12, 100 lucky fans will build homes alongside Habitat homeowners and the stars of their favorite daytime drama.

WHY: Created by the cast members, “The House That General Hospital Fans Built” is an advocacy and fundraising program to build a home for a family in need during this season of giving. From $5 that will buy a box of nails to $1500 that will provide enough drywall for an entire house, all donations are welcome. HOLLYWOOD FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (HFHFH) is an entertainment industry partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles that launched in 2000 with a 20 house "blitz build." HFHFH was founded by Screenwriter/Director Randall Wallace (Braveheart, We Were Soldiers) to encourage the entertainment industry to support Habitat for Humanity's goal of eliminating substandard housing worldwide. HFHFH works with talent and industry leaders who support the organization through donations, volunteer hours and advocacy.
